Brian Carnavil, D.O.
Dr. Carnavil organized this “New Old Time Medicine” practice in 2004, after practicing in the specialty of Internal Medicine in a large group medical practice for fifteen years.
He did his undergraduate studies at Ursinus College, Collegeville, Pennsylvania, earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with honors. His medical training followed at the College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa where also graduated with honors as a Doctor of Osteopathy.
After internship at Metropolitan Hospital, Phildelphia, he completed residency training in Internal Medicine at Abington Memorial Hospital, Abington, Pennsylvania, where he was Chief Medical Resident during his final year of training. He became Board Certified in Internal Medicine on completion of his residency.
Dr. Carnavil is married to Lisa, and is the father of three children.
He has medical staff privileges at Holy Redeemer Hospital, Meadowbrook, Pennsylvania. His professional memberships include the American College of Physicians, the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association, and the Pennsylvania Medical Society.
William H. McMicken, M.D.
Dr. McMicken joined Dr. Carnavil in this practice in 2007 after closing the solo medical practice in Internal Medicine that he began in 1967.
He did his undergraduate studies at Salem College, Salem West Virginia. He is a graduate of Jefferson Medical College and received his M.D. degree in 1958. Prior to private practice, Dr. McMicken served in the U.S. Navy as a Medical Officer and served his internship in the U.S. Naval Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In subsequent active duty with the Navy, he attended the U.S. Naval Submarine School and Deep Sea Diving School and was qualified in Submarine and Diving Medicine. He was an Atomic Energy Commission Trainee, Knolls Atomic Power Laboratories, West Milton Site, West Milton, New York and qualified to serve in nuclear powered submarines. He served in the nuclear submarine service for four years, then entered his residency in Internal Medicine at the U.S. Naval hospital in Bethesda, Maryland.
Dr. McMicken is married to Anita and they have two children, and three grandchilren.

Ms. Karen Ziwczyn
Karen is our Office Manager and is the “go to” person for all things pertaining to the practice. Her job description here is quite simple; she does everything! Her considerable skills as a manager with abilities in all aspects of medical office procedures have been finely honed by twenty years experience in the medical field. She has worked directly with Dr. Carnavil for seventeen of those years. Karen is the mother of three grown children.
Mrs. Kathy Bullock
Kathy is the latest addition to the office staff. She assists as a receptionist, and substitutes for Karen when she has days off or is on vacation. Kathy’s previous work experience includes duties as the Registrar at Manor College, Jenkintown, PA for several years. Subsequently, she was Office Manager of an Iron Workers’ Union. She is now utilizing her clerical and administrative abilities here, while rapidly learning the intricacies of a primary care medical practice.
